Satesh Sookhai is a PhD Candidate in Business Administration at The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, specializing in Human Resource Management within small and medium-sized enterprises. His doctoral research investigates how reward frequency shapes the motivational impact of cash versus tangible rewards, with a strong grounding in the labour dynamics and lived realities of Caribbean small island states.

He also serves as a Teaching & Research Assistant in management and entrepreneurship, supporting both undergraduate and postgraduate learning. His research has been published in top-tier, peer-reviewed journals and presented at regional and international conferences.

Satesh’s scholarly contributions have been recognized across multiple platforms. In 2024, he received the Best Postgraduate Researcher Award at the National Health Research Conference (NHRC) in Trinidad. In 2025, his team earned the Delegate Choice Award for Best Poster at the NHRC 2025, reflecting strong engagement from conference attendees. That same year, he was part of the team that won the Best Poster Presentation Award at the UWI St. Augustine Principal’s Research Awards & Festival.
